No Homosexuals in Malaysian Navy, Says Chief

KUALA LUMPURThe Malaysian navy
has made it clear that homosexuals will not be admitted into its fold.
Commenting on a report yesterday on the British navy
recruiting gays, Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) chief Mohd Anwar Mohd Nor said the
countrys laws were clearly against unnatural sexual acts.
We do not condone such unnatural sex acts, the New
Straits Times quoted him as saying at a function in Kuala Lumpur.
Britains Royal Navy was reported to have signed an
agreement with lobby group Stonewall to promote homosexual rights.
Britain lifted its ban on homosexuals serving in the
military in 2000 following a European court ruling that the exclusion was
unlawful.
The RMN will never accept homosexuals as we have to
protect the image of the navy, the RMN chief said.
